I was the recent lucky recipient of a GoPro Hero 3 (thanks VW!), so I took it out to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with some friends to take it for a spin. I had some much fun with this thing on my first day out. The lack of a screen on the back takes you back to the feel of a traditional film camera. You don’t spend time reviewing every shot to worry if it’s perfect, which lets you stay in the moment, enjoying your day. The view angle is so wide on these little things, though, that you almost always get a good shot. And the exposure for video is GREAT when shooting outside.
